Designing an Intimate Yet Impactful Visual Atmosphere
IPS is proud to highlight its role in the production of Walker Hayes’ ‘Same Drunk’ tour, delivering a visually immersive and intimate concert experience that complemented the artist’s raw storytelling and heartfelt performances.
Partnering with Scott Cunningham of Cut2Black Designs, IPS provided a comprehensive lighting and rigging solution that transformed Hayes’ stage into an emotionally rich, visually striking space. To bring Cunningham’s creative vision to life, IPS deployed a full Chauvet lighting rig.
These fixtures were mounted on Tyler GT Truss and Ladder Truss systems, allowing for clean, linear angles that aligned seamlessly with the show's aesthetic. The strategic use of vertical GT hinges and compact ladder beam trusses ensured clear sightlines, optimized truck space, and efficient setup times.
“When Walker’s team approached me to submit concepts, I was eager to get involved. Once we decided to partner with IPS, we moved quickly into the implementation phase,” said Scott Cunningham of Cut2Black Designs.
“I had specific requests to maintain clean, linear angles in the design, and IPS took those requirements and ran with them. The pre-hung and pre-cabled rig significantly streamlined our load-in and load-out process.”

Understanding the fast-paced nature of touring, IPS’s approach focused on efficiency and flexibility, ensuring that the Same Drunk tour could consistently deliver a polished production in every venue. By pre-hanging and cabling fixtures, IPS minimized setup times while maintaining a high level of visual impact.
