VIDEO DEPARTMENT MANAGER
Job Description: The Video Department Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the Video and LED rental department at IPS. In this position, your primary responsibilities include managing the execution of video operations within the warehouse, ensuring that every order aligns with the specifications set by our rental software, the Account Manager, and the Video System Engineer. You will verify the accuracy of preps and orders, confirming that all required items are present.
Collaboration with the Video Department Lead is essential to effectively deploy assets and coordinate video project requirements. Together, you will strategize on equipment allocation and oversee the deployment of video and LED assets for upcoming events or projects.
Additionally, you will manage warehouse technicians tasked with pulling video orders as assigned by the warehouse manager, ensuring timely and efficient processing. Your role also encompasses personnel training, empowering the team with the skills needed to excel in their positions, along with maintaining accurate inventory levels to support departmental operations.

JOB DUTIES:
Oversee the Video rental department within the warehouse.
Communicate job expectations while planning and monitoring job/task results.
Maintain consistent quality and accuracy of all outgoing and incoming orders and shipments.
Develop, improve, and maintain the Video department's systems, processes, and policies. Streamline operations, information flow, and systems that support the best customer and employee experience.
Coach, counsel, and mentor department employees.
Lead technicians in prep, de-prep, and QC process.
Work with the Technical Services department to repair and minimize downtime of rental assets.
Communicate with account and project managers any necessary last-minute changes to the equipment list so that customers can be aware of required changes.
Attend weekly production meetings to learn of essential updates on projects in future weeks.
Quickly brainstorm and proactively devise solutions for daily challenges that may arise.
Interface with vendors, onsite crew, and other partners as needed.
Assist with inventory control, creating short orders and lost and damage reports for Video rentals.
Assist in Warehouse Operations when needed, including, but not limited to, helping maintain inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with the data storage system, etc.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Anticipate the critical needs of the team and be proactive.
Develop and maintain consistent communication standards with executive staff to identify and plan for future departmental needs and support.
TRAVEL:
Travel to customer sites, venues, job locations, and industry events as needed.
Must be available for up to 10 percent travel and work flexible hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Two or more years of live production experience.
Proficient (High Level) knowledge of various video and LED components.
Proficient knowledge of video equipment- troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
Basic knowledge of equipment technical and safety limitations (weights, safe rigging, power requirements, etc).
Expertise and attention to the highest levels and best practices in Live Event safety.
Process-oriented & technical-minded.
Required skills in leadership & managing teams – coaching them to excellence.
Highly analytical and able to troubleshoot issues quickly.
Good verbal and written communication & excellent organizational skills.
High level of self-motivation and initiative.
Understanding electronic and mechanical systems; knowledge or experience in live production and crew management.
Skills in promoting process improvement.
