AVL IN AN OPEN-AIR SETTING.

Brett Young’s New York City show at Pier 17 was set to be a night to remember—a breathtaking skyline backdrop, thousands of fans, and a high-energy performance. But for IPS, this also meant overcoming one big challenge: Mother Nature.

"Outdoor venues add a layer of unpredictability. You have to prepare for wind, weather, and everything in between while still delivering a flawless experience." - Nicholas Brown

A live concert with a band performing on stage, including a lead singer playing an acoustic guitar, and five other musicians playing guitars and drums. The audience is visible in the foreground, and a large screen behind the band displays an enlarged image of the singer.

THE RESULT

IPS provided lighting, video, and rigging, designing an AVL package that could withstand the rigors of an open-air environment. The use of ROE Carbon 5 video walls created a striking backdrop. IPS worked closely with Brett’s production team to reinforce the rigging and ensure stability.

Despite the unpredictable outdoor conditions, Brett Young’s Pier 17 performance was a resounding success.

"Watching an artist like Brett perform against the backdrop of New York City was a reminder of why we do this—because when it all comes together, it’s magic."

— Nicholas Brown, IPS CEO
